The Latvian Rural Family Doctors Association holds a meeting on March 21.
Two specialists from the Vaivari Technical Aids Centre (VTPC) attend the meeting:
- physiotherapist Laura Slavinska
- physical and rehabilitation medicine doctor Irina Grečnaja
They talk about a state-funded service.
This is the preparation of assistive device assessments in the E-health system.
Assistive devices are various devices that help a person in daily life.
For example, canes, walking frames, orthoses, prostheses, special chairs.
During the meeting, doctors get acquainted with the products of the Vaivari Orthotics and Prosthetics Centre.
Doctors also see the assistive devices catalog.
This is a list of various assistive devices that a person can receive.
Family doctors have the opportunity to ask practical questions to VTPC specialists.
For example, how to properly complete documents, how to choose an assistive device for a patient.
Doctors better understand how to help patients receive suitable assistive devices.
This helps improve the patient's daily life and ability to function.
VTPC and Vaivari specialists thank the Latvian Rural Family Doctors Association.
They are pleased to have the opportunity to share experiences.
They want to strengthen cooperation between family doctors and rehabilitation specialists.
