Information about the European Union Recovery Fund project “Enhancing the Accessibility of Technical Aids”

VSIA “National Rehabilitation Centre “Vaivari”” starts the project “Enhancing the Accessibility of Technical Aids” in 2025. The project is supported by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. The aim of the project is to improve the accessibility of technical aids for people with functional disabilities. It helps people to be independent in daily life and reduces the need for care, especially in the area of long-term social care. Planned funding: The total project funding is 8,113,526 EUR. Of this: - 7,196,909 EUR is Recovery Fund funding; - 916,617 EUR is state budget funding (VAT). The project implementation period is from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Main project activities: - distribution of technical aids using a coupon method or co-payment; - improvement of the website to ensure content accessibility for all and visibility of the technical aids catalog; - implementation of communication and visual identity requirements; - project management and implementation. The goal is to distribute at least 10,474 technical aids to people with functional disabilities by June 30, 2026. These individuals are defined in Section 25 of the Social Services and Social Assistance Law. The project is implemented in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers regulations No. 83 of February 4, 2025. This project is part of a broader reform “Accessibility of Social and Employment Services to Support Minimum Income Reform” in the RRM direction “Regional Policy”.
