This section provides methodological materials for professionals on topics related to the provision of state-funded technical aids. They are intended to promote collaboration between healthcare professionals and the Vaivari Technical Aids Centre (VTPC), ensuring a unified approach to the preparation of opinions and other documents to facilitate the process of providing assistive devices.

Recommendations after Amputation

To ensure a uniform, high-quality approach to patient preparation and to promote a faster, successful prosthetic process and functional recovery, we offer to familiarize yourself with the methodological material developed by NRC Vaivari specialists, which is intended for traumatologists and rehabilitation specialists who inform patients about the practical and medical aspects to consider after amputation while preparing for prosthetics.

The materials provide structured recommendations on:

  • body preparation and positioning;
  • wound care and reducing swelling;
  • muscle activation and balance training;
  • psychological support and communication with the patient.
