REMINDER! Changes in the submission procedure for the certificate issued by the healthcare professional

Starting from January 1, 2025, certified treating physicians and functional specialists (occupational therapists, physiotherapists, technical orthopedists, and speech therapists) will be required to issue the certificate for receiving an assistive device ONLY electronically in the E-health system. Instructions on how to do this. This means that the person will no longer need to submit the treating physician's certificate to the Vaivari Technical Aids Centre (VTPC).

To apply for an assistive device, the person will only need to prepare a request for receiving the assistive device at the VTPC, which can be submitted:

• In person at the VTPC branches in Riga, Kuldiga, or Rezekne
• electronically, signed with a secure electronic signature, by sending it to the email vtpc@vtpc.lv.

These changes have been made based on the amendments to the Cabinet of Ministers regulations No. 134 "Regulations on the unified electronic information system of the health sector" dated December 12, 2023.
