Preparation of Oxygen Concentrator Documents for Patients

Step-by-step actions are described - how to prepare the necessary documentation  for patients who need to receive oxygen concentrator services. Here you will find technical tips and instructions to ensure that patients have the appropriate set of documentation.

For the provision of oxygen therapy, patients are divided into two groups and subgroups:

  • Chronic patients
are at their place of residence with a chronic lung disease with a feeling of shortness of breath or a chronic lung disease in stable remission (i.e., at least 8 weeks have passed since the exacerbation of the disease), whose pulse oximetry (SpO2) reading at rest, breathing atmospheric air after approximately 30 minutes is ≤ 92%.
  • Subacute patients are further divided into 2 subgroups:
  1. patients who will be discharged from the hospital but will need oxygen therapy at home (outpatient service) for no longer than 3 months. There is no provision for extending the service for another 3 months. The service cannot be extended further.
  2. patients receiving palliative care mobile team services or hospice care at home who have been diagnosed with respiratory failure.
